The Restoration Team News

Our restoration Team have been very busy throughout 2024.  The team work quietly, in the background, restoring and conserving aircraft, and cockpits so they can be enjoyed and preserved for generations to come.

Below, Andy one of the team explains how they tackled one of the 15 projects the team worked on during 2024.  Please click on the link to view the video.  

The team have been engaged in many projects, some completed and others are ongoing.  In addition to restoring the Vampire, they have also finished the Meteor to exhibition standard. 

 The two-seat Vampire T11 at the South Wales Aviation Museum which has been painted in the markings of 614 Squadron to mark the centenary of the Royal Auxiliary Air Force.

​​Work is underway on the cockpit of the famous G-BDXH cockpit.  'Bravo Hotel' as she is affectionally known flew through volcano ash, thanks to the brave and skill of the British Airways crew everyone survived and lived to tell the story of flying in the world's largest glider.  

The latest addition to our fleet is the Vickers Varsity which the team are looking forward to restoring before we can unveil it to the public in 2025.
